Final report of the national symposium which addressed problems with sentencing policy making and public perceptions of courts, judges and the criminal justice system. The sessions explored the relationship between politics, public opinion, media coverage and policy making, as well as mechanisms for identifying whether current sentencing policy is working and how to change the process if it is not.
