Adoption and Permanency Guidelines: Improving Court Practice in Child Abuse and Neglect Cases

The purpose of the Guidelines is to set forth the essential elements of best practice for the court processes that lead to a permanent home for children who cannot be reunified with their families. The Guidelines describe each step from the point where the court determines reunification is not an option to the point where the juvenile and family court is no longer involved in the case becase the child has achieved permanence in a new home.
